65 new companies registered in Northumberland from 11 to 25 September, from a Thai restaurant in Alnwick to a Berwick bakehouse. Plus the closures on record.
At least 65 new companies were registered in Northumberland in the two weeks from 11 to 25 September. Ashington had the most, with 11. Nine of the 65 are food and drink businesses, from a Thai restaurant company in Alnwick to a bakehouse in Berwick.
We found them by searching the Companies House register for every new active company with a registered office in the county’s main towns, then checking each postcode against official boundary data. One Cramlington-postcode company that sits in North Tyneside was left out.
A new company is not always a new shop. Some register at an accountant’s or a home address and trade somewhere else, and some are holding companies that will never have a front door. Where the register tells us what a business does, we say so. We do not publish home addresses.

Closures and insolvency notices
These are the company notices in The Gazette with a Northumberland address from 11 to 25 September. We report only what each notice records. Personal bankruptcy notices are not included.
| Company | Area | What the notice records |
|---|---|---|
| Bread and Roses (Northumberland) Limited, bakery | Alnwick | Members resolved on 10 September to wind up voluntarily; liquidators appointed |
| Aerauster Limited, aircraft leasing | Warkworth | Creditors’ voluntary liquidation; liquidators appointed 16 September |
| Executype PA Limited | Felton | Creditors’ voluntary liquidation; liquidators appointed 11 September |
| O’Hare’s Plumbing, Joinery & Building Maintenance Solutions Ltd | Cramlington | Creditors’ voluntary liquidation; liquidator appointed 3 September |
| Sheer Bliss Beauty & Holistic Salon Ltd | Cramlington | Went into insolvent liquidation on 10 August (notice about re-use of the name) |
| Elpha Lodge Residential Care Home Limited | South Broomhill | HMRC petition to wind up, listed for hearing on 23 September |
| C T Haulage Ltd | Barrasford | Petition to wind up by the supervisors of its voluntary arrangement, listed for 22 September |
| Ashfield Estates Limited, property | Ponteland | Members’ voluntary winding up from 18 September |
A petition is not a winding-up order. On 25 September, Companies House still listed Elpha Lodge Residential Care Home Limited as active and C T Haulage Ltd as in a voluntary arrangement. Neither register showed the outcome of the hearing.
Ashfield Estates’ notice is coded as a members’ voluntary winding up. That is the route a company takes when its directors declare it can pay its debts in full, so it is not an insolvency in the usual sense.
Any company named here can contact us at hello@northumberlandpost.co.uk, and we will add its response.
